Fighting Talk
Well, in case people havent heard yet, Colin Murray is the new host of
Fighting Talk. Now he has a hard act to follow (IMO) but I reckon he could
make a good try at it.

The man went even higher up in my opinion on New Years Eve when he was
standing in for the fat one Holmes on the saturday morning show, and he made
it listenable to once again. Even better, at the end of the show he came
out with the absolutely classic line when thanking everyone on the show by
introducing that silly bint who is always on there as "the only member of
the show who could be a widow in the new year!". her husband of course
being James Cracknell who was doing that rowing across some ocean thingy at
the time. In my own little deluded world this was said to her with complete
malice and as punishment for being so obnixious when she works with Holmes.

Although i never catch Murray on Radio 1 (im guessing he is still there?) he
also done the american football on channel 5 this season, and was very
entertaining in that, even doing the whole show from a sleeping bag one
night just for the sheer hell of it.

So, a very worthy successor to Christain O'connell i hope. shall be
listening in this saturday to see how he goes

Never heard of the bloke but when you mentioned that he came from Radio One
it all became clear..... another one of Sheenan's imports to attract even
more spotty yoofs to the once adult station we used to enjoy.

Oh, and saying that he was an improvement on Eamonn Holmes is hardly a
shining endorsement is it? A bit like saying it's better to have rabies than
Ebola because you live a couple of days longer.

Now be fair, give the man a chance. i also stated he works for channel five
on their overnight sports coverage, so he clearly has both a liking of, and
an interest in, more than just man utd, which is about the limit of holmes
knowledge.

I dont know what he does for radio 1, but i dont think he classes as the
normal braindead kiddy fodder that usually comes from there.

and as he is taking over fighting talk, you cant claim it as futher evidence
of dumming down, the show isnt exactly high brow or current affairs now is
it!

Really nice down-to-earth bloke, too, when he is out and about in
Belfast. He remembers his old pals and doesn't hang out in wanky bars.

Call me a bluff old traditionalist, but I'll reserve judgement as to
how good he is on Fighting Talk unti, you know, *after* he's actually
hosted a show.
