BBC pays £3K per week for Holmes' flights
Saturday, August 4 2007, 15:44 BST
By Daniel Kilkelly

BBC bosses are paying £3,000 every week to allow Eamonn Holmes to fly
to the National Lottery Jet Set studio in Scotland.

The host fronts programmes for Sky and ITV in London every morning,
which means that he must fly to Glasgow on a private jet to be able to
arrive at the BBC Scotland studios in time for broadcast on Wednesdays.

A source told The Sun: "He could take a scheduled flight but they can
be unreliable. So Eamonn arranges his own transport."

A spokesman for the BBC confirmed: "Eamonn is paid a fee for appearing
on the show and that takes into account any transport costs he may
incur."
