Who buys this dross anyway?  These nonentities get paid hundreds of
thousands in advances for their tittle-tattle, so some sad souls must
read the tripe.

That's too cynical, not to say libellous,  even for me - you can't blame
m'learned friend for speaking out if he believes his profession is being
brought into disrepute (no laughing at the back).

No opinion ventured as to whether the Beeb should be part of the advertising
hype for Mrs Booth-Blair's book, I see.
