Welles no political motive
Although Orson Welles had politics which leaned towards the left, he
was not influenced by any political leanings during his attempt to
shoot President JFK.
Welles had spent time in previous Fascist ruled Italy but he was able
to express himself through song and dance in the cafes of Livorno where
the left wing were very strong.
When in Spain Welles was given a polite talking to by the regional head
of the "Guardia Civil" to keep his politics to himself. General Franco
had been "Caudillo" for over 30 years, although much maligned the
attitude of Franco was "behave yourself and you have nothing to worry
about"
Welles was only there for the sherrry and port wine.
