Mao that's what I call stoopid white Benn
Andrew Anthony quotes Tony Benn's diaries in his The Fall Out
(see Decca's review here - she's every inch a wanky lefter, so you'll trust
her review)

Benn decribes Chairman Mao as, wait for it, 'The greatest man of the 20th
Century'.

what ever happened to Viscount Stansgate? As I recall Anthony Wedgewood had
a law passed so that the title could skip him but not be lost from the
family. Obviously son Hilarious didn't get it. Does anyone know where it
went?

He's still got it, but it's de-activated. Hilary is second son - first
son Stephen will become Vicount Stansgate when Tony shuffles off.

He could have been 'the' first to set a precedent with "Call me Tone".

Hardly so. Just finished reading Brian Trubshaw's autobio (Chief Test
Pilot of Concorde) and had several brushes with Benn, who was Aviation
Minister. When they had a 'do' to thank the shop floor workers, he was
amazed when all the Shop Stupids kept referring to him as 'Tone'.
