Serge Gainsbourg
Just discovered what a talented songwriter he was, having heard tonight's
BBC-R2 documentary on him and then checking out a load of his songs
(Elisa, Couleur Cafe etc. etc. etc) on Youtube
and to think all I knew about him was Je t'aime
didn't even know he wrote Poupée de cire, poupée de son!

I smiled when they mentioned in the doc that this song was banned in the UK
until someone discovered that the title actually meant "lemon peel" or
something equally innocent.
