Well done Liza
Liza Tarbuck is so much easier to listen to than Steve Wright.
Hope she gets a regular slot.

With all due respect to Lisa, an elephant with terminal flatulence is
easier to listen to than SW!

I think you're being hard on Liza there. I didn't hear her fart once.

At the end of the show yesterday Liza read out some words of advice
sent in by a listener for a man about to go on a first date. He
advised: "have a lamb shank before you go out so you don't rush your
dinner". I can't imagine Steve Wright ever reading that out. Pure
class, and probably Radio Moment of the Year, even on January 2nd.

I wish I'd heard that. Do you think Liza took it literally or did she
cotton on to the rhyming slang?
Roughly what time did you hear this? It would be fun to hear it on
'Listen Again'.

I'm sure she knew exactly what was meant [in Liverpool they refer to a
"ham shank" which is usually made into a cheap pea-based alternative
to "scouse" in those parts] and it's to her credit that she slipped it
in subtly [no overt hint of innuendo in her tone] and left us to make
of it what we would - made the moment all the better for me. I don't
often laugh out loud, but that hit the spot precisely.

Thanks - heard it now. Very nicely and matter-of-factly done by Lisa. I
bet they had a good laugh about it in the studio!

Although I didn't listen in, this is a scream. I have images of Ben
Stiller in the wonderful "There's Something About Mary" in my head now
- especially when he opens the door....
