Ed Stewart returns to Radio 2 Christmas Eve
Junior Choice
Christmas Eve Monday 24 December
1:00-2:30pm
Following the success of the special programme for BBC Radio 2's 40th
anniversary celebrations in September, Ed "Stewpot" Stewart returns
with a Christmas edition of Junior Choice. The series originally ran for 12
years from the late Sixties to the early Eighties.
Featuring listeners' requests and dedications, the show is sure to bring
back some childhood memories for listeners.

I find it strange why Stewpot would want to do this show, other than for
the obvious attraction of a reasonably fat fee. After all, how many kids
these days would listen to a show like this? Or is it just a trip down
memory lane for those of us who were 'juniors' when this show was in its
heyday?

The latter, I think. Although I suspect YoungBloke would be quite amused by
treats such as the Laughing Policeman...

God help us, thanks for the warning.
Coupled with the news that David Beckham is also on R2 on Xmas day, I think my
radio will be firmly switched off.

Don't forget Nellie The Elephant... and that song about "...little boxes
made of ticky-tacky..." (which I'd love to hear again because it seems quite
a biting and possibly still relevant satire).

Is it true that 'Puff the magic dragon' was not what it seemed at the

Well Im looking forward to it, I always liked his Sunday evening show that
Johnnie Walker took over. Incidentally, has anyone listened to JW recently?
Im afraid I went off him a bit when he started all that "chill out feel
better healthy attitude" stuff he did. Irarely listen to him now.

I don't often get to listen to JW's Sunday show, not through dislike but
because I'm often just not around to listen to it. I did listen in this
Sunday though during a drive home, when he had Robert Plant and Alison
Krauss in as guests. Enjoyed that, and I really like their new album.

The latter is YoungBloke's bedtime song, you know!
