SK / TBW
Any chance she might be off next week as well. Would make me and the wife v
happy bunnies. Thought Aled, even though a bit slow off the blocks was much
more interesting.....was a long piece in the Telegraph last weekend
basically saying her goose was cooked and that this week was more of a
reflect and grovel week off rather than a pre-assigned holiday period....

...the Telegraph told us that the world would come to an end if
Thatcher lost the Tory leadership battle, they said the world would
end if Labour won the '97 election, the said the Euro would not
last...
Don't believe all they print!

Well, considering we are still here suggests the world didn't end and
considering currency markets are buying the Euro rather than the
USD...
All I'm saying is, most newspapers (unfortunately) print what they
think their readers want to read, not necessarily the (whole) truth.

I think that's the case. That week's Radio Times (Aug 18-24th) had her billed
as normal in her slot.

Well she has gone from a bit of a throat infection to sinusitis to
pneumonia inside a week. Thanks christ she is still off or she'd be
wittering in about the vultures nesting outside her window.
Reports on a couple of usually well informed media sites suggest that
she is, despite the BBC press line, on what amounts to the equivalent
of police 'gardening leave' which usually means we're going to spare
you the embarassment of being sacked but you won't be coming back and
when your contract comes up for renewa we'll let you go slightly.

Again you show your lack of medical knowledge, people have indeed gone
from a chest infection to pneumonia (or worse), sometimes inside a
week of the initial diagnosis.

Care to cite or are you going to do a Mike Terry?

Sick leave you mean...

That's "early retirement due to work induced stress". If the BBC
wanted to sack someone they would do so without subdifuge - ask that
ex Blue Peter presenter - or at the very least publicly suspend them -
ask Johnnie Walker...

Indeed. FWIW at time of posting, Richard Allinson is now down to present
Tuesday's show, and SK the rest of the week.

The Radio Times has SK listed for Tues-Fri.
