Just heard, Richard Allinson standing in for Ken Bruce next week.

Cheers for this info Joel.
Just listening to Alex Lester in the small hours too and he's off on a
Month's leave from the end of next week I think. Not sure who's going to be
standing in for him yet though?

It appears to be Nikki Bedi (who?) according to the "Radio Times" website.

Good God! I thought (hoped, more like) that Alison had been put
out to grass for good. Looks like it's gonna take a silver
bullet to silence this prize prat.

Re: RA standing in for Ken Bruce
I reckon that he's doing a good job, although according to the handover
banter this morning with Wogan he played a Jimmy Young Record yesterday,
suppose we can forgive him that as JY did have a number one in the 50s.
Wogan also mentioned him playing three tracks without interruption which if
it became a common practice could put presenters out of a job!

Bob Harris (and others) have been doing that for years. Planet Rock even
manages whole hours (Rokblocks) of continuous music. It's to be encouraged -
we need more segues and less monotonous, vacuous, waffling DJs who think
that they are the stars of the airwaves.
XFM have also, apparently, been the considering the idea of making their
daytime DJs redundant and playing continuous music from breakfast until
teatime.

Er, a bit more than considering it - they've been doing it for the last two
days (in fact they might even have been doing it on Monday). And it's
rubbish.

Well yeah, and for the record I neither know nor care where the nearest Palm
retailer is. But obviously they were already doing that anyway.

It appears to be Nikki Bedi (who?) according to the "Radio Times" website.

Good God! I thought (hoped, more like) that Alison had been put
out to grass for good. Looks like it's gonna take a silver
bullet to silence this prize prat.
Best wishes

And it's
rubbish.

Do they interrupt it with adverts after every second song?

Well yeah, and for the record I neither know nor care where the nearest Palm
retailer is. But obviously they were already doing that anyway.

Cheers for this info Joel.
Just listening to Alex Lester in the small hours too and he's off on a
Month's leave from the end of next week I think. Not sure who's going to be
standing in for him yet though?
