BAFTA Music on Radio 2
By Michael Beek
It's BAFTA weekend here in the UK and BBC Radio 2 are running their 'BAFTA
Long Weekender', featuring a series of programmes and segments centred on
Sunday night's big event. On Sunday afternoon John Barrowman sits in for
Elaine Paige for two hours of music from movies and musicals, with a special
emphasis on BAFTA nominated films and scores. The show kicks off at 1pm, so
tune into 88-81FM, or listen online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2.
The British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday night at London's Royal
Opera House and are hosted by Jonathan Ross. BBC Television begin coverage
at 2100 GMT and as usual they will broadcast a very scattered version of
events, with a break for the news at 2200! No doubt, as usual, the film
music award won't even be televised, but merely mentioned before the credits
roll.shame.
