Chart Commentary 16/12/06
Singles
-------
Take That hold on to #1 for a 3rd week, by a comfortable margin.
NE's (incl. D/L climbers)
Top 10 : Lazy Town #4, Gwen Stefani #8, Jamelia #10
Top 20 : Chris Cornell #12, Morrissey #16, Cascada #17, Scissor Sisters
#19, P.Diddy/Christina #20
Top 30 : Slade #22 [It's Christ-mas!] :), Pogues #23, Paolo Nutini #27
Top 40 : Lil Chris #33, Jay-Z #38, Thunder #40
Absolutely delighted to see the initial mid-weeks for Cascada were
complete BS! :)
Albums
------
Take That also hold the #1 spot here.
No new albums in the top 20, with Gwen Stefani being the highest NE at
an astonishingly low #26, especially given the late surge for her
single.
Emma Bunton continues the ex-Spices terrible album sales though,
debuting at just #65.
Oddly enough, there's an EP in the album chart - Babyshambles at #62. I
dare say they sold enough to go top 10 on the singles chart though, if
it were eligible.
Next Week

Singles

I am now rather more confident that Cascada will take their deserved
place at #1 - and the fact that it will piss off JK & Joel royally is
surely a good enough reason on its own to go out & buy it. :)
NE's (incl. D/L climbers)
Top 10 : Chris Cornell, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Lil Chris, P.Diddy/
Christina
Top 20 : Lily Allen, Shakira
Top 30 : Cliff Richard, Katie & Peter, Snoop Dogg
Top 40 : Crazy Frog, Matt Willis
Possible D/L's : Girls Aloud, Queen/Miami Project, Razorlight
Albums
------
My guess would be Take That, again.
No more new albums of any significance to be released this year.
