What follows was told us by our chemistry master, so may well be
fictional ...
There was a particularly good student (whom everybody knew was good),
who tended to finish the practical exam ahead of time and would then
play - putting reagents of an obvious colour into his burette. According
to the master, it was interesting to watch the colours propagate around
the lab, as everyone copied him ...
