Head of the Turkish military Junta general openly threatened Kurdish 
newspaper


So far Kurdish newspaper Gundem have been threaten many times by the Turkish 
administration officials, certain far-right organisations and opened 600 
court cases against the newspaper and this time being threatened openly by 
the head of the Turkish military general Mehmet Yasar Buyukanit who 
previously claimed the responsibility of bombing the UMUT Bookshop owned by 
the Kurdish Seferi Yilmaz who spend 15 years in prison for his political 
activities in Semdinli, Hakkari!

During the press, cocktail Turkish general was asked about the PKK leader 
Abdullah Ocalan's comments through his lawyers from the isolated island of 
Imrali prison. He answered the question as saying "That is nothing, in this 
country PKK even have a newspaper". PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan stated in his 
meeting with the lawyers two weeks ago that Turks have six months to start 
the dialogue if not then he will not be able to hold on to the guerrillas to 
continue their cease-fire. Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Ocalan also 
commented on France new bill that would make impossible to deny the Armenian 
Genocide. He said, "Armenian genocide is just single atrocity which have 
been committed by the Turks. In the near future Turkey have to accept and 
recognise the Pontian and Assyrian genocides as well as the others"

Turkish general threatened the Kurdish newspaper by saying, "PKK have a 
daily newspaper in Turkey, the Turkish press should write about these and no 
one should allow this kind of papers in this land"

When it was asked about USA being a neighbour to Turkey in Iraq. Turkish 
general said "This is what they say but in reality USA is not there but we 
have a PKK as a neighbour and American's PKK coordinator has brought nothing 
new" he continued "Problem of terror in Turkey is made up to be rights of 
the minorities by the international community but no one is talking about 
the terror, just useless things like human rights or minority rights, If we 
continue this way then Turkey will have the danger of going back to Ottoman 
years where they had a lot of minorities"

Previously when the Turkish General was in Greece he pointed out that if 
Ataturk saw these developments and people still talking about the minorities 
then he would have been disturb by it and dissapointed. Ataturk has managed 
to silence the minorities by ethnically cleansing Turkey from them. During 
the Ataturk years in turkey Armenians, Pontians, Assyrians, Surriyanis, 
Greeks, Arabs, Kurds, etc, were subjected to the genocide, which were mostly 
successful.

General Buyukanit also mentioned the so much complained law 301. by the EU. 
He said same laws are in effect in Germany and Italy where in Germany 
glorifying NAZI years are subjected to punishment or in Italy, any criticism 
against the administration or laws could make you end up in jails.
