Home Cinema Terminology
We are compiling a dictionary of audiovisual industry terms (called
Hollywords) and are looking for individuals interested in contributing
to the dictionary project (fact checking existing entries, submitting
new entries, acting as subject-matter editors, etc.).

The goal of the Hollywords dictionary is to provide a single,
authoritative resource for industry professionals and enthusiasts who
encounter terms from outside their normal area of expertise. In this
case, we would like to cover the full scope of home cinema terminology
that a consumer is likely to encounter. The general goal of Hollywords
is not to define advanced terminology for use by experts, but to
define terminology for non-experts in that field -- in the case of
home cinema, that would be the entire scope of the industry from the
perspective of the consumer. In the end, our humble goal is to foster
free, open, and accurate communication across the various
specializations that make up the audiovisual industry. (More
information about the Hollywords project can be found at
www.hollyword.org, or you can write us at info@hollyword.org.)

If you're passionate about home cinema -- whether you're an industry
professional or a consumer enthusiast -- and want to share your
expertise with others, then we would love to hear from you. In
addition to providing a positive contribution to the audiovisual
industry, contributors will also be acknowledged in the print
publication and will earn a share of the publishing royalties.

Thank you for your time. We hope to hear from you soon.

Here's a word those in the media seem to be unaware of 'research' and
it doesn't mean google and/or wikipeadia. Cheers...

Re: Home Cinema Terminology
We're with you on that. So far we've referenced over 3,600 different
published resources (both electronic and in print) in addition to the
personal experience and recollection of professionals working in the
field. We're all about the research.
