Upgrading a mix-and-match audio system on a budget
I've just upgraded my tv to a Samsung 50" plasma.

So, it's now time to look at the audio. My current system is very
piecemeal, mix-and-match, to say the least, as follows:
Denon 1705 5.1 amp
Jamo e8cen.2 centre
Old Technics fronts on Mission stands (can't remember the serial
number of the Technics but they're a reasonable but not audiophile
quality)
Wharfedale 7.1 rears, but I don't have stands because in my old place,
they were wall mounted, but that doesn't (can't) apply to my new
place.
No subwoofer yet

I mostly watch sky movies, often with 5.1 sound, some sport and listen
to music, so I'm considering the following as a good compromise
between music, sport and films without spending much money:
Moving the Technics fronts to act as rears and buying Jamo C605
floorstanding fronts (they should timbre match the centre better and
it seems they're only marginally more expensive than a set of stands
on which to put the Wharfedales - I live in Switzerland and you can't
buy decent budget no-name stands here, it seems). I'll buy some small
Jamo rears later.
I was looking at getting a fairly cheap Jamo Sub200, but the frequency
range is is 40-150 and the C605 fronts already reach 37. Hence a
question - if the fronts already reach 37, is there a point to this
and can I just do without a sub? My room is very "stark" - a big room
with wood parquet floors, plain painted walls, and little furniture,
so bass tends to boom.

I would welcome any further comments and suggestions on this plan.

One final question regarding the amp setup - with the proposed new
setup, do I set the fronts to LARGE, assuming no sub and all other
speakers to SMALL?

TIA for your help.
