recommendations for small/cheap speaker-only packages?
Moving house and downsizing to a small living room. SWMBO has said the big
speakers need to go, so I'm looking for a package of very small speakers +
smallish active sub to use with my existing DD/DTS Receiver.
Something the size/price of a Samsung one I saw in Dixons (X30R?) would be
ideal, but all these sort of things seem to come with a dvd
player/decoder/amp unit, which I don't need or want.
Are there any similar systems that are just the speakers (the sub would need
to be active still) but without the dvd unit?

I'd be interested to hear what you think of them. I've got
floostanding Missions for my surround setup but I've got a feeling
that when I eventually go Plasma/LCD that I may have to follow suit
with the smaller boxes.

I'd be interested to hear what you think of them. I've got
floostanding Missions for my surround setup but I've got a feeling
that when I eventually go Plasma/LCD that I may have to follow suit
with the smaller boxes.

Probably not going to wire them up properly for a couple of weeks (when I
move) but I have got out one to use as the centre (sold mine), and also the
sub.
Initially it all looks positive - they are very well made, solid feeling and
heavy for such small units. The sub is pretty effective too, doesn't drop as
low as my REL Q100 (but then it's half the size!) but still goes deep and
loud.
Hard to judge sound quality on music as still using my floorstanding Sony's
but these end on ebay in a day so might have to get the others out of the
box at least temporarily...
