JVC xv-na77sl Region 2 player

Does anyone know if this player can be "easily" reprogrammed for region 1 
DVDs via the handset, etc?

Sorry... I've tried searching, but its kinda urgent.. as in... I ordered a 
Region 1 NTSC DVD for the wife for Xmas and I reckon I've screwed up her 
Xmas pressy :(

There's no easy way of hacking a JVC or any other major brand name player.
