It's worth having, but you could also run 'Spybot - Search and
Destroy', AVG Anti-spyware and Lavasoft Ad-Aware now and again... all
are free, at least for personal use, and between them will probably
catch plenty of things that Microsoft don't.

Just don't install any random anti-spyware software without checking
the web first, as a number of them are themselves spyware.

Per my other post, a useful list of bogus anti-spyware apps...

http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

I've put some stuff on trying to get rid of spyware / viruses on my
site over at http://www.coreutilities.co.uk - sadly the spyware is
winning at the moment, and generally updates itself quicker than new
removal utils can be found.

As a result, you may find yourself using several apps / utils now,
such as Vundofix / Fixwareout / Smitfraudfix / Combifix / SDfix before
you can start to say you're winning the battle.
