BT Total Broadband problem
Hi,
Since the installation, I've had huge problems with the speed of my
broadband.
The speed was ridiculously low around 50 kbps. I have called BT several
times about this problem, they said there was a problem with the phone line
etc.
The problem Has now been resolved they said, and the speed stabilised at 120
kbps.
They say it is ok.
Well, I don't think it is.
I am paying £27 for up to 8 mbps speeds and have 40GB download limit.
Spoken to a guy from BT and he says I am paying for usage, not for speed.
Well, it seems to be a nonsense, as Broadband is all about speed.
He said there was nothing they could do.
When I check on BT website, it says:
Check availability - resultsFor Telephone Number 0131******* on Exchange
DEAN
Our initial test on your line indicates that you may be able to have BT
Broadband with download speeds up to 512Kbps, which is up to 10 times faster
than dial-up. At the moment, your telephone line is unable to support our
2Mb speed broadband package. Also, due to the length of your line, an
engineer visit may be required to set up your broadband service.
What is that mean?
I must also note that there were times after installation when the speed was
well over 1mbps, so there must be a way to make it at least that fast.
One more thing, when ordering, another BT guy said that speeds up to 2.4
mbps are available on my line.
Well, I am very confused. Not willing to pay that much for that little.
Anybody could advise what to do, PLEASE?!
Cheers,
Paul
