LINUX Archos AV 500
Does anybody know if I can run linux on archos av 500? or if any other
OS?

No idea, but why would you want to? Its OS is firmware-based, as are
its codecs, but why mess around with a perfectly adequate piece of kit
that does very nicely what it's designed to do?

Someone went to the effort of getting Linux to run on iPods, so the
feeling is probably "because it's there"! I've not seen any Linux kit
for Archos, it would tend to lack input facilities to do anything with
it. The iPod port used the wheel for all sorts of input.

By the same token, you could stick a nail through it, hang it on the
wall and call it "art", but it'd be just as pointless!

Now don't be giving ugly but rich artist(e)s more ideas, they're bad
enough with crap on beds etc! Only fire can fight such nonsense (as
when that east London warehouse burned down to pearls of laughter from
the sensible masses).
