Why Bush and Cheney Will Not Be Impeached
This indeed has been an interesting, revealing and momentous seven years of
this the G.W Bush administration.
Like many people, my personal politics has changed of the period and I for
one have gone from what would be considered more or less liberal, to more or
less conservative. Until recently I was like many a critic of the Bush
administration but for which have a new found respect and hesitant
admiration.
Coupled with that change was the also new found hesitant respect for the
stealthy nature of current state of politics and not limited to the United
States. Politics works on many levels not at first seen in order to achieve
its goals. A myriad of forces interact to influence political decisions each
for their own perceived best interests. With this in mind the Bush
administration may possibly go down in oral history as one of political
genius when it comes to skillful, stealthy and sometimes not so stealthy
political maneuvers.
In a nutshell this author credits the administration of forwarding its
perceived self anglo interests at a high cost to other ethno-centric groups.
The financial windfall was placed into anglo interests which will
theoretically make its way back into the economy as in the classic
Reagan-omics model to the behest of competing ethno-centric groups. Therefor
by the administrtion's much derided historical legacy, their success will be
indicated.
More to the point is why no senior member of the administration will be
indicted for impeachment. There is much interest on the part of the
ethno-centrics to avoid any further investigation into the lead-up to the
Iraq war because those interests would also be identified in any such
hearing.
Simply put, the Bush administration was able to open the bank and have
everyone else complicit. The administration will never have to be concerned
about any call for impeachment because everyone else stands to loose further
than what they already have.
Sheer brilliance!
