Sunday's warmth
Although weather preenter Shefali on BBC Midlands Today claimed that
a
maximum of 30C was recorded in the Midlands on Sunday, and presenter
Suzanne claimed we are having the hottest April "we can remember",
the
reality is nevertheless of a very warm day around here on Sunday.

With a maximum temperature of 22.9C, Sunday became one of the warmest
April days on record in Coventry; with records dating back to 1892,
only 5 April days have been hotter in this period. The highest
maximum
temperature in April was 26.7C in 1893, followed by 25.3C in 2003,
25.2C in 1949, and 25.0C in both 1945 and 1946.

As a cautionary note however, we recorded 25.3C on this day in 2003 -
just 3 days later, the maximum temperature only reached 8.4C on 19th
April - such is the fickle nature of April weather.

Looks like we could have frost again by the end of the week.

Hi Steve, ss all this "snow" on Friday a bit too general? In Scotland
perhaps, but Warwickshire? I've given up listening to the hype on the
news :)

I'm glad that high-level cold front went through yesterday, the haze and
fog has gone!

Hi Steve, ss all this "snow" on Friday a bit too general? In Scotland
perhaps, but Warwickshire? I've given up listening to the hype on the
news :)

I'm glad that high-level cold front went through yesterday, the haze and
fog has gone!

Hi Steve, ss all this "snow" on Friday a bit too general? In Scotland
perhaps, but Warwickshire? I've given up listening to the hype on the
news :)

I'm glad that high-level cold front went through yesterday, the haze and
fog has gone!
