>Message-ID:

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

The following is the new charter for
	uk.local.teesside
as amended by the changes to all groups in uk.local.* recently adopted by
public vote. See
	<news:result-uk.local-990306-225951@usenet.org.uk>
for the full result of that vote.

Essentially, the ammendment adds an extra paragpraph limiting cross-posting to
no more than four groups in uk.local.*, replacing any previous provision for
crossposting. A further explanatory paragraph is to be included only in those
groups which do not prohibit advertising.

Any complaints to the effect that the ammendemnt has been incorrectly applied
to this charter should be sent to control@usenet.org.uk.

Charter of Uk.Local.Teesside
(Not Moderated)

The uk.local.teesside newsgroup is for discussion of the
Teesside area of north-eastern England, which includes, but is
not restricted to, the Cleveland region. Contributions are
welcome from people who live, study, or work in the area, have
an interest in the culture, history and attractions of the
area, plan to visit it or are now living 'in exile' and have
fond memories of their time in the area.

  Advertising

Posting adverts to the newsgroup is strictly forbidden, with the
  following exception:

Announcements of community events and other non-commercial
information that is of direct relevance to the people of the area
  is welcome.

  Cross-posting

Messages posted to this newsgroup must not be cross-posted to more
than a TOTAL of four uk.local.* newsgroups; these may be
geographically adjacent or overlapping, or connected by the subject of
the post (e.g. "moving house from Stockport to Stockton").

  Binaries

All posts must be made in plain text; HTML and other types of
formatted text are forbidden. Posting URLs of relevant Internet
  resources, where appropriate, is encouraged.

With the explicit exception of PGP signatures, all encoded
binaries are forbidden. Forbidden binaries include, but are not
limited to: pictures, sounds, word processor documents, executable
programs and "business cards". You are invited to read a guide
on the World Wide Web at http://www.usenet.org.uk/ukpost.html for
further information on how to configure your newsreader to post
  to uk.* newsgroups.

  Warning

Anyone posting advertisements, binaries or other material contrary
to this charter may be reported to their ISP or postmaster without

Newsgroups line

For a guide on how to configure your newsreader/web-browser for posting
to uk.* groups, see <http://www.usenet.org.uk/ukpost.html> .

Proposed changes to this or any other uk.* newsgroup are published in
<news:uk.net.news.announce>, a moderated, low traffic newsgroup, which
you are recommended to subscribe to. Details of elections to the
UK Usenet Committee, which normally start in September of each year,
are also found there.

For those who are familiar with this post and know how to use killfiles,
it is possible to avoid downloading this FAQ under normal circumstances
by adding a reference to kill on the following line:-

        X-Changes: NONE

When a new version appears this will be modified for the first time it is
    posted, hopefully saving bandwidth..
