Rhyl
Hi
I've hired a caravan at the end of August for a week on the 'Sunnyvale'
caravan site in Rhyl. (mad I know !!).
Not having been to Rhyl for a couple of years I was wondering if the work
they were doing on the promonade where the old paddling pool used to be is
now all finished...last time I was their it was a right tip in that area.
Plus I understand the Fun Fair is now closed ..demolished ?...what do they
plan to do in that area?.
I hope they don't make the same balls up as they did with Prestatyn and
the old Ffrith Beach...used to be loverly their...nice little fun fair...few
shops/cafe's..ect....couldn't belive my eyes two years ago when we paid a
visit !!
All done up but nobody their..everything boarded up on the Ffrith and its
'new' arcade ..who's dumb idea was that !!

I've still got time to cancel by the way !!!!!!
Thanks

You couldn't have chosen a bigger shit house. Rhyl really is disgusting.

Do yourself a favour, cancel now, get your money back and go somewhere
clean.

The "Drift Park" is complete and quite nice - though not worth
anything like the money they wasted on it. The Fun Fair is gone. The
plan was/is to build luxury apartments and a supermarket on the site,
including over the prom so that the prom would be closed at that end.

The latest news is that the developer is in financial difficulties; we
are all keeping our fingers crossed and hope that he/they go bust.

The council has finally got someone in to pay the exorbitant rents
they were demanding and there is now a restaurant, a car boot sale and
one or two other amenities.

The word you want but appear unable to find is "there". Only idiots
write "their" for a location.

You are not serious surely about going to that total dump for a holiday.
I have been to loads of seaside towns in Britain and Rhyl is by far the
worst.
It's a horrible place and the people there are pond life.

Depends on what you want from a holiday. If you want to enjoy peaceful
strolls in the countryside, then I agree that Rhyl seems a somewhat
perverse choice. On the other hand, it has a reasonable shopping
centre (town centre and out-of-town), the nightlife is modestly good,
if games arcades are your scene then Rhyl is abundantly supplied.

Mind you, even from the stroll in the countryside point of view, there
are beautiful walks only a mile or two from Rhyl town centre and
Cadw's most popular site in Wales - Rhuddlan Castle - is only just
down the road.

Yes, I've heard of them - but as I don't go wandering round the
streets at 2.00 am, I've never encountered them.

Indiana Jones must be his alter ego, you obviously haven't seen the
pompous cunt walking around Prestatyn N Rhyl with his digging up the dead
Indiana Jones hat and mac on. LOL.

You just gotta see it to believe it.

The guy is a total whack job.

Care to be more specific? Care to let us know which of the seaside towns
you rate? I've visited most, and I'd me most interested in which ones
you consider better than Rhyl. Maybe you haven't been to Rhyl over the
last couple of years and seen the changes.

The main thing wrong with Rhyl is the visitors - especially those from
Wrexham who seem to delight in punch-ups and leaving their rubbish all
over the place.

>It's a horrible place and the people there are pond life.
>Mike.

That's a laugh - especially coming from someone from Wrexham.
