On 14th July, John McDonnell announced his campaign for the Labour
leadership to
provide an alternative to the reactionary politics of New Labour.

John will be addressing a public meeting tomorrow (Thursday 21st
September) at
7.30pm
in the Dockers Club, Townsend Lane, Anfield, Liverpool, L6 0BB.

Other speakers include John Wiseman (Editor, Amicus Unity Gazette North
West)
and local
representatives of the FBU and RMT. All are welcome to attend.

John's campaign pledges include:

- An end to the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, justice for
Palestine and
the scrapping
of Trident

- An end to privatisation and the restoration of public ownership

- A Trade Union Freedom Bill

- An increased state pension and the restoration of the link with
earnings

- A green energy policy based on alternative sources, not nuclear power

- The scrapping of tuition fees and support for comprehensive education
