Another example of incompetence and disregard for the motorist by Lincoln's roads department. At present there are roadworks just past Bracebridge Heath on Cross O'Cliff hill and the road is closed to inbound traffic resulting in a large increase in the volume of traffic being routed past Mill Lodge and down Canwick Hill. One of the few suitable detours round the problem would have been for northbound A15 traffic to go off right just before Waddo airfield and through Branston to approach Canwick Hill from the other direction. In their wisdom the planners have decided to block that turn off to Branston due to further roadworks being carried out at the same time, ensuring the maximum number of cars is routed past Mill Lodge with the resultant extra delay. If the planner's aim was to cause maximum disruption, long delays and great frustration to as many motorists as possible they have succeeded.

I use Canwick Hill and I have really noticed the effect. (Not too bad for me on my bike though ;-)
