For Crying out loud
Are there any sane serious posters out there in Lincolnshire land?? Someone
with something of interest to post.

It would seem that rants on this site are from people escaped from, or
inmates of, the asylum.

You have posted to a special newsgroup set up by
the the NuLabour Government to plug the gaps created by
the abysmal failure of the Psychiatric Care in the Community Policy.
which was implemented by the last Tory Government. This
policy was not only continued but also expanded by this
NuLabour Government.

The uk.local hierarchy was devised to provide an outlet for
individuals who would otherwise be spending their days sitting
at home wearing an aluminium foil hat waiting for a full moon
to rise. It was hoped that this would reduce the incidence
of nutters out there howling at the moon and frightening the
shit out of their neighbours. Another of HMGs aims and
objectives was to provide a distraction to take their minds
of the problem of who they were next going to knife to death.
Unfortunately, this group has been taken over by the
articulate lower middle classes who have succeeding in
driving HMGs target audience away. Independent research has
shown that it was the amount and quality of the inane drivel,
called small talk which the middle classes are adept at, which
had the effect of doing their heads in. They left to protect what
was left of their sanity. This has happened to the whole of uk.local.
hierarchy. This newsgroup in particular is a very good example
of another HMG failure

I trust this post will help guide you in your future dealings with this
newsgroup.

Thank you for this opportunity.

There are a few, but you have to weedle the sensible ones out from all
the idiots
like that pratt posting as "Skippy" (The name changes every- so-often),
dont bother
trying to figure out what they are tryng to prove, just put them in your
killfile
(Same goes for the other idiot who bombards the NGs with his insane
obsession
about freemasonry) It's those who reply to them expressing their anoyance
that encourages them.
I suppose the local groups are like pubs........stay off religion and
politics !
But yes....if you ask a sensible question you will get a few intelligent
replies.

Although the relative intelligence does depend on the lateness in the day
and amount of Brew quaffed.

But yes, there are people here despite the best efforts of the trolling
morons.

Re: For Crying out loud
I still use it. A shame the way this ng. has gone over the last 10 years -
such a good idea having a community bulletin board where you can ask for/get
help and post local for sale/wanted ads for free.

Used to be quite busy here. Has something better replaced it that I've
missed? Freecycle for Lincoln is chocca with traffic, but unfortunately it
has a much narrower range of use.

Ah yes, dear old Skippy with his Tesco NTL internet connection.

Must have picked up a BOGOF trolling kit when he was buying his Bulgarian
lager.

Usenet generally has had a bad year. UK.rec.sheds, uk.rec.gardening
are only a tenth as busy as they used to be. part of the problem lies
with ISPs who do not provide newsfeeds, but also the trolling seems to
be achieving what they set out to do.
