most scuba diving clubs will have snorkeling training, (and yes there is more
than sticking a 'pipe' in your gob and jumping into a pond) and possibly like
minded types.
checkout these clubs on my site

Thanks for that Derek.
I've tried most of the local (ish) scuba clubs, I want to do the BSAC ocean
explorer course, but the nearest club I can find that will do this is in
Adwick near Doncaster, it's an 80 mile round trip for a 45 minute pool
session. Its gonna cost me a fortune in petrol!

Don't often say it, but check out the local PADI schools, then do a
crossover test if you wish to continue with BSAC.
Best of luck

Yup tried that too ..... looked at the PADI skindiver course, cant find
anywhere local interested....I've emailed every PADI and BSAC place I can
find including the regional BSAC coach (who hasnt replied yet). The only
place's I can find around here are the Adwick club I mentioned in my
previous post, and Robin Hood Water Sports in Bradford, they do an
intensive course (but havent given me a price yet but I guess it's gonna be
pricey coz they charge £45 for a 1 hr intro session)
I'm really running out of avenues to explore here :((( I cant believe no
one in this area is interested in snorkelling :(

Re: Snorkelling Club
Woohoo - success at last (sort of) got enrolled on the PADI skindiver
course - not sure it will be in depth enough to do a crossover to BSAC
though
