Recomendation Please
Need to find somewhere to dine out next Saturday evening, was planning on the
White Hart, Lincoln, but they have a wedding and are not taking bookings.

So, if you want to take someone special out too dinner, say within ten miles of
Lincoln, where would you go?

Thanks ,

I like the wig and mitre, or Browns pie shop, both just down the hill
from the White Hart

Horse + Jockey at Waddington (very nice). I've heard the Bell Inn at Coleby
is good too. The Pyewipe Inn, Saxilby Road, Lincoln

Derek,

I'm a bit late but hope you found somewhere nice. Next time, try the
Old Bakery on Burton Road. Unless you're minted it needs to be a
special occassion (about £40 per head including wine) but it is well
worth it. It's the best food I've ever had in Lincoln. Failing that,
I could also recommenend Jocasta's in Thorpe-on-the-Hill.

Regards,
Shep

P.S. I agree with some of the other suggestions (Browns, Bell Inn, Wig
etc) but Horse & Jockey!! It's nowhere near as good as the others -
just standard 'Brewers Fayre' type stuff.

Landed up on a barge on the Brayford, food, OK, but nothing special, and bit
chilly due to the boat having doorways with no doors, so thanks, but no thanks
for a return trip.

Was on my first list, and maybe next time.

Yes not bad, tried it but still looking for the one for me.

Thanks, that will save a trip, I used to like the 'Inn on the green' ingham,
but the couple who ran it moved away, has anyone been there in the last year,
and would you recommended it?

Try the Bull and Chain Pub, Langworthgate.
Great choice, good food, good beer, decent clientelle and
not overpriced . ( The landlords home-made steak pie is fantastic )
Served lunchtime and evenings till 9.
I noticed the meals are substantial too, none of the artistic crap
where
you pay for chef's decoratve skills.
