massive data loss
Nice one. Can't wait till they've got all my genetic, retinal and whatever
information the Govt creepily dreams of getting on us to give away to some
herbert on a train!
I've no doubt that "lessons will be learned". Thing is ... with the money
these ministers are on, you'd think we'd get professionals that had already
learned all the lessons - not a bunch of trainees using real life as their
training course.

Surely this episode is the final nail in the coffin of identity cards. This
government, any government, cannot be trusted with personal information. I
think we've "learned a lesson", and that is governments may be able to
philosophise but putting their philosophy into practice is quite another
story. MP's are not managers, most are doctors, accountants, teachers,
lawyers, social workers; there are very few who have been industrialists.
Consequently they are good at talking but couldn't manage a chip shop let
alone the huge government departments. I'm always amazed at their arrogance
thinking they could. Plonkers, the lot of 'em!

Clearly everyone else agrees with us. I get the feeling that they agree
with most of what we say. Maybe we should run for parliament as a party of
2, lol.

Sorry, I don't agree, certainly not on this issue, or with much else that
you say for that matter.

I'd support your campaign.... (methinks not eating for a week and having a
glass of red wine has not helped this decision mind!) ;-)

Whaddya mean, you don't agree? You think it is alright to lose personal data
and MPs are born managers? :-)
And in all seriousness, this couldn't care less attitude about personal data
seems very peculiar to me. I wouldn't want the world and his wife to see my
bank account details, my medical records, my phone and text records, etc.
Would you?

Well everyone agrees with us is a given, why shouldn't they, we are the only
ones who talk sense. But a party? Everyone might agree with "us" but how
long would it be before we didn't agree with each other? Not long on any
historical basis! lol

It seems that anything that a socialist govt does is ok according to Harry
as long as it is a socialist govt doing it. I suspect that includes human
rights attrocities in China and all the fun Stalin had in the good 'ol USSR.
Simple, basic tribalism much akin to a football supporter - my team commits
a foul "he played the ball", their team commits a foul "refereeeeeee, send
'im off". Its as simple as that.

It's your analysis of my response which is simple. Your original comment
was "Clearly everyone else agrees with us. I get the feeling that they
agree with most of what we say." [See above] I was taking issue with that
statement - I hardly ever find myself agreeing with what you say. Your
unwarranted assertion about my views on human rights is as erroneous as most
of your other observations.
