Long shot ???
I have been asked by an old friend, how she could trace an even longer lost
friend?!

The lady in question is called Beatrice, and she would very much like to
find her old friend, 'Sheila Peters' who lived in Gillingham, near the
railway. Would probably in her 80's if she is still alive.

Would anyone in this group have any idea how to find or find out about this
lady Sheila Peters?

Any help much appreciated.

TIA

Julia

Electrol register is a good place to start. Try also search family
members (sons etc), if you locate one perhaps follow it up with a
letter asking about the person your looking for and detail why it is
your looking for them. Direct enquiries etc.

That is not bad advice- with a surname and area even bt.com may turn up up
lead.

I was tracing a branch of my family tree- I had a surname and an area based
on a WW1 record- first phone number turned up a connection. It is a
surprisingly "small world"- I worked with the best friend of a distant
relative from a branch of the family I didn't even know existed. In my next
school, there was another distant relative- both of us were 300 miles from
our "roots".

Good luck

Thank you for your suggestions, I've passed them on and enquiries have
already begun.

Cheers
