Eurovision
Well, found myself unable to avoid watching it tonight.
Despite Terry Wogans occasionally very funny 'aside' about the farcical
nature of the proceedings it has long since lost any sight of reality. As my
12 year old son put it 'Russia could have sung 'if you're happy & you know
it' and still won! How Spain, Bosnia and France managed to get the scores
they did defies any reason.
Oh yes, in case you were wondering we came last again!
Should the BBC be wasting out license fee on a 'Balkan/Baltic Love in'?
For my money the Greek entry was far the best, and she was pretty cute as
well!

Totally agree, I put myself through the agony of watching it too! It's a
farce! I liked the Greek song and also the one about the Pirates (for
laughability).... What the hell was the French one about and how did it
manage to get a single point let alone more than the UK!!!
Not only wasting our license fee but a large slot on a Saturday night.... (I
really must get a life!)

Even though I am a huge Eurosceptic, I've always thought that the
Eurovision idea was a good way to unite the people in Europe (not the
politicians). However, it seems to get ever more political each year,
and the voting has lost any meaningful connection with the talent ( or
lack of) in each contestant
