What day is Market Day?, and where?
I've been Googling for Hampshire markets, but not much luck.

I know of :
Christchurch on Mondays,
Salisbury on Tuesdays,
Ringwood on Wednesdays,
Eastleigh on Thursdays
Southampton on Fridays
Lymington on Saturdays

There must be more that this ?.......

Re: What day is Market Day?, and where?
You have posted to a newsgroup set up by
the government to plug the gaps created by the abysmal
failure of their Psychiatric Care in the Community Policy.
The uk.local hierarchy was devised to provide an outlet for
individuals who would otherwise spending their days sitting
at home wearing an aluminium foil hat waiting for a full moon
to rise. It was hoped that this would reduce the incidence
of nutters out there howling at the moon and frightening the
shit out of their neighbours. Another of HMGs aims and
objectives was to provide a distraction to take their minds
of the problem of who they were going to knife to death next.
Unfortunately, this group has been taken over by the
articulate lower middle classes who have succeeding in
driving HMGs target audience away.Independant research has
shown that it was the amount and quality of the inane drivel,
called small talk which the middle classes are adept at, which
had the effect of doing their heads in. They left to
protect what was left of their sanity. Saddly this has happened
to the whole of uk.local. hierarchy.

This newsgroup is a very good example of another HMG failure.

So what's that got to do with it?

I am aware that this NG is full of idiots like yourself,
but it is local, and there may be a few rational people still read it
from time to time. I do. Why should it be drowned out by "nutters"
and conspiracy theorists? Get your own newsgroup and stop spamming
everything else.

Farmers' markets listing is here
http://www.hampshirefarmersmarkets.co.uk/

I tried a few months ago trying to find where general and bankruptcy
auctions, not antiques, were in Hampshire these days and failed

Is there still a market at Hythe?
Is there still a market as part of M27/J6 Burseldon Heights carboot sale,
Sundays ?

Some of the markets listed here
http://www.smtcmarkets.co.uk/index.html

I have this week been trying to re-discover , as forgotten, what the red and
white roofs on some buildings on the 14C Gough map
http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/users/nnj/goughmap.htm
represented. As they look like market traders' canopies perhaps it
graphically showed that there were markets in those towns.
Winchester of 1360 or so does not have a red/white striped roof

He's not an idiot, he's slightly insane. He derives pleasure from
getting a reaction from normal people like you and I. The best thing to
do with these people is to add them to a blacklist. As there aren't
many of them this can usually be done - but I can't filter you out in
case you say something useful. (I know he won't). So to put the advice
back into the usual slogan

Please don't feed the trolls.

BTW If it's any help, there are auctions I know of at Losely in Surrey,
Reading, And ...er... they don't say but ISTR Wokingham in Berks, none a
million miles from the northern edge of Hants. Do you want more details?
