The Burn Closes Bridge
The Burn Closes Bridge in Wallsend is due for demolition soon.
A new road bridge is to be built - near enough on the same site - to
replace it.
In the meantime, a temporary pedestrian bridge has been built just west
of the old bridge.
Some photos of it's construction here:

One of the construction workers on the site told me that demolition of
the old bridge will commence as soon as the temp pedestrian bridge is
opened, and that that could happen as early as next week.
