Trying to trace ancestors...
Trying to discover what happened to a couple of great uncles of mine who
left London at some point, possibly 1930's, to live and work in Cornwall.
George ALLAN b1890 and William ALLAN b1895 (both Chiswick, London). I
believe they went down to the Redruth area. I have a 'change of address'
card that was sent by George ALLAN to say that he was moving to 8 Gordon's
Close, Stithian's in the mid 1960's, but I have no idea where in Cornwall he
was living prior to that move. A letter, from the same address, was sent to
my uncle in 1982, so he must have lived to a good age, because even then he
was inviting his nephew to come down and stay with him.
They were both married, but I don't know the names of their wives and I have
no information at all about where William lived.
Stithians is quite a small village, but despite this, I haven't managed to
find anything out about George's time living there. I'll be travelling down
to Cornwall in the summer and plan to visit Stithians and maybe knock on a
few doors in Gordons Close!

Kind regards... David Allan.
