If you take a look at the male population in the Hazara region of SE 
Afghanistan-
NW Pakistan (illustrated on the map here):

you will note that 1/3 of the male population are DIRECT descendants of
one Genghis Khan (and that's not counting those descended through the
female lineage or the women themselves).
