Irish Blessing
Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.

Compared to who?
Compared to the British who roamed the world weilding a big stick and
shooting the fuzzy wuzzies?
Compared to the Radical Muslims who are hell bent on killing everything that
moves, and blowing up everything that doesn't?
Compared to the Americans who are nothing short of war-mongering
armageddon-merchants?
Compared to the British again, who are nothing more than the Americans
war-mongering sidekicks?

Certainly not. As an ex-serving member of her majseties armed forces, I'm
hardly likely to forget things like that.

My point wasn't that the Irish are a peace-loving nation. I know my
countrymen have committed some attrocities, which are shamefull to say the
least.
My point was that the Irish are not the only violent nation.
And anyone who claims a nation knows fuck all about peace, while hailing
from one of the most violent nations on earth, is nothing short of an idiot.

If you think about it, all nations have violent histories..
French - Indo China
Germans
Japs
Spanish & Portuguese - The Americas
Dutch - Africa
All the mess that is the Balkans
The Turks
Russians
Egyptians
The Vikings with all their pillaging
Not so much a national problem, more to do with inherent behaviour
within homo sapiens.
How did that Billy Joel song go... 'we didn't start the fire, the fires
are burning since the world's been turning'

Your apology most warmly accepted. Actually I love the Irish people, and

LOL. I reckon everybody's got a bit of Irish in them somewhere. We tend to
get everywhere, and with a cheeky wee glint in our eyes, we interbreed

If you think about it, all nations have violent histories..
French - Indo China
Germans
Japs
Spanish & Portuguese - The Americas
Dutch - Africa
All the mess that is the Balkans
The Turks
Russians
Egyptians
The Vikings with all their pillaging
Not so much a national problem, more to do with inherent behaviour
within homo sapiens.
How did that Billy Joel song go... 'we didn't start the fire, the fires
are burning since the world's been turning'

LOL. I reckon everybody's got a bit of Irish in them somewhere. We tend to

Compared to the British who roamed the world weilding a big stick and

If you think about it, all nations have violent histories..
French - Indo China
Germans
Japs
Spanish & Portuguese - The Americas
Dutch - Africa
All the mess that is the Balkans
The Turks
Russians
Egyptians
The Vikings with all their pillaging
Not so much a national problem, more to do with inherent behaviour
within homo sapiens.
How did that Billy Joel song go... 'we didn't start the fire, the fires
are burning since the world's been turning'

Your apology most warmly accepted. Actually I love the Irish people, and
even more so their music ... I think I may just have some Irish blood
flowing in me somewhere amidst the alcohol ;o)

LOL. I reckon everybody's got a bit of Irish in them somewhere. We tend to
get everywhere, and with a cheeky wee glint in our eyes, we interbreed
wherever we go.
