Unlocking a mobile phone?
Can anyone tell me where in the Eastern Borders I can get a mobile
phone onlocked?

All above board. I've just sacked O2 after the worst year's service
I've ever had from a mobile phone provider - I wouldn't touch them if
I never owned a mobile phone again. But at least the Nokia phone is
mine. I've gone off contracts for good, so I'd like to put a payg sim
in it - both Orange and Vodaphone seem to have decent signals around
here.

friend had to go to the shop in Berwick on the street that leads to
the library. Only one I know.

Most Nokias can be unlocked remotely - Google for it. I unlocked my
N-Gage for £2.37 via a text-based service. As long as the phone is
legit, you will have no problems - only an operator bar (stolen/on
contract and they're being unusually unpleasant/VERY unpaid bill) can
prevent them being unlocked.

Re: Unlocking a mobile phone?
Can't you just phone O2 and ask them to give you the PUK code - or whatever
it's called?

Oh - and I agree O2 are terrible.

Thanks for the help - a little belated but I've not been well.

I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be anywhere in Berwick any more that
does this - all the phone shops seem to have closed down, though
there's a new O2 shop (which I'd rather not frequent).

I tried an online service. Luckily it only cost a few pounds, as it
didn't work. Not keen to risk it again.

Someone said there might be a place in Galashiels - I might spend a
day in the central Borders and have a look around Gala and Hawick.

Many thanks for the input though.
