Was at the Rock festival in Saltcoats on Saturday there, the usual neds were
running around with their bottles of buckie and cans of lager, growling at
everyone that happened to look their way. One wee auld man was also pished
and had the cheek to hold onto a fence to steady himself when Strathclyde's
finest happened to pass by. Noticing that the wee auld man was frail and
well blootered instead of young and full of agro they decided to lift

wee in fact they could have picked him up with one hand ..So what was

Did you hear what was said?  Can you be sure they weren't arresting him for 
some earlier incident?  Mibbe they lifted him for not washing his manky 
jeans for 6 month.

routinely handcuff everyone that they arrest, irrespective of age,
gender or behaviour.  They are perhaps following the example of their
USA colleagues!  Probably for the purpose of intimidating the suspect,
more than any other reason.  In the town where I live, they recently
CS-gassed a 70-year old man who had parked in the wrong place and then
made the mistake of arguing with the polis!

Did you hear what was said?  Can you be sure they weren't arresting him for 
some earlier incident?  Mibbe they lifted him for not washing his manky 
jeans for 6 month.

I have noticed in the last year or two that the polis seem to
routinely handcuff everyone that they arrest, irrespective of age,
gender or behaviour.  They are perhaps following the example of their
USA colleagues!  Probably for the purpose of intimidating the suspect,
more than any other reason.  In the town where I live, they recently
CS-gassed a 70-year old man who had parked in the wrong place and then
made the mistake of arguing with the polis!

"wee auld man" ?   He doesn't look exactly "auld" ."wee" maybe ...so
wee in fact they could have picked him up with one hand ..So what was
the need for the cuffs ?

Did you hear what was said?  Can you be sure they weren't arresting him for 
some earlier incident?  Mibbe they lifted him for not washing his manky 
jeans for 6 month.

I have noticed in the last year or two that the polis seem to
routinely handcuff everyone that they arrest, irrespective of age,
gender or behaviour.  They are perhaps following the example of their
USA colleagues!  Probably for the purpose of intimidating the suspect,
more than any other reason.  In the town where I live, they recently
CS-gassed a 70-year old man who had parked in the wrong place and then
made the mistake of arguing with the polis!
