Kim Wilde, Belinda Carlisle, Nick Heyward, Imagination and more - major Retrofest line-up additions
Kim Wilde, Nick Heyward, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Imagination and Belinda
Carlisle are now confirmed for Retrofest the UK's first 80s outdoor music
festival at Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland on September 1 and 2.
Imagination will be playing on the Saturday while the other four acts will
be playing on the Sunday, taking the total number of acts to 19 so far.
Kim Wilde said: "The line-up is spectacular and performing at Culzean Castle
will be a thrill. Retrofest should be a great weekend."
Curiosity's Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot said: "I'm really looking forward to
playing at Retrofest. I've had some good times in Scotland and I'm hoping
this will be as memorable as my last few visits. With that line-up I'm sure
it will be."
Retrofest Promoter Brad Snelling said: "We promised the best line-up and
we're certainly delivering.
"Kim Wilde and Belinda Carlisle both created iconic songs from the 80s -
many a teen's record collection started with Heaven is a Place on Earth -
while Nick Heyward must have a place in pop history for some of the
catchiest songs ever.
"Add to that the genius that is Imagination and the catchy tunes of Ben
Volpeliere-Pierrot, it's making for an incredible weekend.
"Take these artistes and add them to the likes of Human League, ABC,
Bananarama and it's the defining music of the 80s.
"Scottish talent's getting a great look in as well with Hue and Cry, The
Silencers and Four Good Men playing the classics from Simple Minds and H20.
"Sadly, Jimmy Sommerville can't make it now, but we wish him all the best
and hopefully we'll see him at another Retrofest in the future.
Retrofest is also delighted to announce hit website Remembertheeighties.com
has come on board as a sponsor.
Brad said: "If there's any site that's keeping the eternal flame of the 80s
alive then it's www.remembertheeighties.com. Richard Evans does an
incredible job and it's only fitting that the best 80s website has teamed up
with the best 80s music festival."
Richard Evans said: "From when I first heard about Retrofest I knew we had
to be a part of it. The acts are what defined the era and Retrofest has
something for everyone. It's going to be a great weekend."
