console registration
Hi
I just got a new elite and would like to sell my old xbox 360, however one
time I rang up microsoft because I broke my headset, I tried to get them to
give me a replacement, but he kept asking why it wasn't working etc. Anyway
stupidly he asked me some things about my console, serial number and some
other details so he might of registered it for me, yet now I want to sell it
I'm wondering how I can find out if it is registered or not. I never got an
email from microsoft saying it was. If I go to here
https://service.xbox.com/servicehome.aspx and sign in using one of my two
hotmail addresses (I may have given him one from my ISP, can you register
with a non windows live email address?) It just says Welcome to Xbox Live,
Asks me to choose a Gamertag, Gamer Picture, Gamer Zone and Contact
Preferences, its the same with my other hotmail address. I would prefer not
to sell the console with my information attached to it and if it does ever
go wrong the buyer won't be able to get it repaired?

I think just deleting any gamer profiles, wiping the hard drive and
running initial setup again to restore factory defaults will fix the
information issues. Re registration, ring MS customer support and give
them your serial, they'll tell you if it's registered.

Ah yeah I was going to wipe the HD, I meant information attached to it by
means of the registration, if it is indeed registered! Not sure how they
could get hold of that information if it is though, maybe only through
customer support.
I'll give them a ring, and if it is ask them if they can deregister if it is
registered lol.

They can't get hold of it so there's no need to panic there. You can
transfer your profiles to your new console.

Hi
If you sell your xbox 360 to someone he dont get the waranty. Because
the xbox 360 was allready registed to your name. also i think there no
way to see on the xbox website is your console is registed or not.
Good Luck :)
