Upgrading from 3.40 OE-A...
I haven't played with my PSP for ages (too busy on the PS3) but I'd like
to upgrade it to 4.01 M33-2.
Has anyone here done this? Any hints or tips please?
Thanks.

i can't see why it would be a problem, you might have to install the
original 4.01 M33 first though, before the -2 update.

As far as I've learned, trying to go from 3.40 OE-A to 4.01 M33-2 will
brick your PSP.
I had to go...
3.40 OE-A--> 3.52 M33-4--> 3.71 M33--> 4.01 M33-2
And all is now well.

Seems a good starting point.

I've always stuck to the Dark alex FW's myself.

They are, aren't they? Didn't M33 come out and admit that after a
while?

no idea to be honest, i only got a PSP again a few months ago and the
first firmware i put on it was 3.8x M33 (got it off ebay, and it had
2.71 on it already)
it's actually getting more play now than it did when i first got it,
as the popsloader never worked properly previously, a lot of games
crashed (well, the FF games crashed) but now they all work perfectly.
huzzah!
