Anno 1701 - wonky roads?   
Chapter 3, build a warehouse...

Can't build straight roads... Only diagonal ones?

Is this normal? A bug? It's bloody annoying whatever it is!

Erm, what? It's an isometric game. ALL the roads are "diagonal".

Aye, but on Chapter 3, I can't seem to draw a long road, it always kinks into 
a 90 degree bend unless I do it in short chunks. Odd that it hasn't happened 
on the first few islands.

That's .... not the problem you originally described ;-) It may be that
there's a small "un-roadable" bit of scenery (like a rock) in the way.
Besides, you don't ever need long roads - long roads mean it takes
longer for resources to reach your warehouse. Just build another
warehouse nearer the resource. Warehouses DO NOT need roads between
them.

I don't think its a rock, unless my eyesight is going. I'm able to complete 
the road I want in short segments. I was just trying to draw a road around my 
housing estate so the feckers don't burn to death. I guess I might have made 
my streets too long but I still don't remember this behavior in the first two 
chapters.

And no, I didn't explain it properly in the first post!

Still having a blast though. And very topical last week it was too. Yarr.
