"Bad language" in Animal Crossing
I'm sure, that when I donated a mosquito to the Museum, Blathers
described them as " Dirty, filthy little buggers."!
Has anyone other such examples?

I made a t shirt with a huge knob on it which sold like hot cakes in the
shop.
And I wrote "you smell of poo" on that cats face which my wife was
annoyed about when it entered her town ;)

Aye but that was you that wrote those things. I'm assuming that
Blathers is scripted and doesn't pick up words from the other animals.
I would imagine that it's just one of those words that americans think
is cute and british without realising the full meaning.

Well, mosquitos are bugs. That means they are able to bug you. Which
makes them buggers.

<taxonomy pedant>
Strictly speaking they're not "bugs" as that refers to a particular
order, the Hemiptera. Mosquitos are Diptera or true flies.

They can still bug you, though. They're some of the best buggers of the
insect kingdom, in fact.

That's an amusing theory, but in reality "little buggers" is a common phrase
in the US that refers to anything small and annoying. And we wonder why
Nintendo was afraid to release a US-localized Animal Crossing in Europe...
