OT - quotes in google groups replies?
As I've never used Google Groups for newsgroups before, I've started using
it till I sort out something better, just for accessing the new
uk.games.video.nintendo group. My problem is, I can't seem to figure out
how to show the quoted text of the messages I'm replying to. Can someone
please tell me how, or indeed if I can actually do this? Thanks.

There should be some text that looks something like this:

- Show quoted text -

click on that and it expands to show the quoted text.

I think if you click on "more options" and then "reply" there, it puts
the previous post as quoted text.

I think.

Yeah, I looked up an FAQ earlier today and that's exactly what it said you
do. I then tried it when I replied to one of Choobs posts on the new group,
but the quoted text was not there in the final post. I'm now wondering if
the FAQ is not relevant since a change in the version of the google groups
interface. I'll try again later to test it again, thanks.

Works fine for me, show options > reply. This gives you a text entry
window prepopulated with the text you're replying to, each quoted line
marked with a ">", the only way to lose it when you post is if you
delete all the quoted text by hand.

Next time I'll try in IE, I was using Firefox......sometimes certain things
don't go like clockwork for me, in this respect.

I pretty much exclusively use Firefox. In fact, I'm using it, and
google groups to do this quoted reply, so I guess this'll prove it
works. Or not.
