Nintendo dismisses rumor that Zelda TP will use Revolution controller

Magazine's claims said to be nothing more than 'pure speculation'
Nintendo has dismissed claims that long awaited GameCube title The
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be playable on the Revolution
using the new "freestyle" controller.
NGC magazine was responsible for starting the rumours with an article
which read: "Twilight Princess will be playable on the forthcoming
Revolution using the upcoming console's unique controller."
"When you insert the disc into your Revolution, you'll be given the
option to use the Revolution's controller, with all the advantages this
will bring."
But Nintendo has now told our sister site, Eurogamer, that this is not
the case.
"The article in the January edition of NGC Magazine is pure
speculation," the company said.
"Nintendo have made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda:
Twilight Princess. We can however confirm that the game is still in
development and that it will launch on Nintendo GameCube in 2006."

Sorry, but if those quotes are correct, that's not a denial from Nintendo at
all. Somebody needs to explain to the people at gamesindustry.biz what a
"non-denial denial" is, and how to detect one.

They're just saying that it is all speculation, which it is - as Nintendo
have officially made no such claims. They do not deny it though, which is
good for Nintendo - as, as long as people are discussing them, they haven't
been forgotten. Nintendo don't want to be forgotten, you see, in the midst
of these new fangled hardware releases from other companies. They are simply
playing the PR/media game. It's all one big game. I wouldn't even be
surprised to learn that it was a tip-off coming from Kyoto that lead to the
story in the first place. Although I'm not stating this is what I do believe
to be the case, I must add, just that it would not surprise me.
