Unfortunately it will probably have a shitty upload like the 10mg service.

I have just downgraded from 10mb to 1mb as it makes hardly any difference to 
the xbox LIVE service, it is the upload that matters when hosting Live 
rooms.....

The ability to get 10mb is dependant on so many factors you probably 
wouldn't see the benefit anyway. I have never measured over 6mb on my 
10mb NTL line.

I get between 3 Meg & 10 Meg on mine dependant on the time of day, as you'd 
expect, 3ish at the weekends and up to 10 during the night/weekdays.

You *do* know you only have 100k on the upstream with the NTL 1MB package? 
It improves on the 2MB though, apparently. I am on the NTL 1MB tier of 
service too, and I seem to be absolutely flying on the PS2 network, really 
fast and zero lag - although I don't host. It's just that Xbox Live 
specifies 128k min on the upstream, that I thought you'd be better off with 
2MB? Also, you're going back on 10MB whether you like it or not - before the 
year is out. ;)

Yeah, old news. As is the news that NTL will upgrade my speed to 10MB, from 
1MB, by the end of the year, for no rise in monthly fee. [Yet they can't 
seem to add a new f'ing newsgroup to their server - you just couldn't make 
it up.]

BTW, who the f*ck needs 100MB speed? Businesses, schools, fine.....normal 
folk though?

Not true. See the threads on NTL hell for a start. What modem was you using? 
They are actively updating the modems and firmware's for people going that 
slow, but the home200 and home250 Ambit modems are fine (depends where you 
live though, too). My best mate has been upgraded, and virtually gets the 
whole speed.....just shy of 10MB. Many are getting the full 10MB bang on. 
There are a few depending factors, area, line quality, but no real reasons 
why you'd be nearer 6MB without there simply being an overlooked issue.

Im on 10mb with Telewest and noticed little difference over the 4mb service.

Still, 100MB would be bloody nice, especcially if the upload gets a similar 
upgrade...Peer 2 Peer *could* be AWSOME...
