Analysts predict Nintendo will sell 30M Revolution systems during its life
up from previous estimates of 23M

[sorry this is not in English]

http://www.gamefront.de

---------------------------------------------
Mio. Einheiten insgesamt 30 Mio. Konsolen weltweit innerhalb des
Produktlebenszyklusses verkauft werden.
---------------------------------------------

that is up from previous estimates of Revolution selling 23M units
during its life

30 million Revolution systems would be better than Gamecube but
somewhat less than Nintendo 64, which sold around 35 million units,
give or take a few million.

I agree they are out of their minds. It's possible the Revolution
(like the NIN DS) will take off and sell millions, but it's also
possible it will be a flop or just a mediocre product (like the
Cube,n64 saleswise) and just squeak by. It's impossible to predict
at this stage in the game. Maybe 1 year from now once all the
system's are out and the first round of games have been sold, someone
could make an educated guess but it is way too early. One thing I
will say, Nintendo is aiming high with the Revolution, it will prob
either be really popular or a flop. I dont think there will be a
middle ground with this console.

Prodicting now is plain stupid as noone outside Nintendo knows anything
about the system unt the bare basics. Those annoying A-guys need to wait
til true facts are out before opening their big mouths.

Jeez, don;t you know you're supposed to be *paid* before you make shit
up? That's usually the way it works with these guys. They get paid to
make shit up and their employer then takes their opinions to their
stockholders to inflate their stock.

Don't forget the powerpoint presentations, and the charts. Especially the
charts. The more charts you have, the more weight your "analysis" will
carry with the people who matter.

As others have pointed out, this stuff is basically worthless as a
prediction tool. However, it does actually help Nintendo if the perception
among "analysts" is that the console will sell well. It will help to get
funding from publishers for third party games, and more attention from
retail buyers. Sad, but true.

Not to mention the support of the sad-sacks who want to be seen to have
the console which will 'BE TEH W1NNAR 0f TEH R4Ce!!11!!one!"

Since Nintendo hasn't released all the information about the Revolution
yet their analysis has to be wrong, just by definition.

They're "analysts", so yes, in fact. .. They just make this stuff up.
  They're glorified weathermen.
