That might be cool, it it still used the motion detection to trigger special
moves or to direct a power move in a certain direction. I think it would
feel really good to "slam" your remote into another player, especially for a
knockdown move, or guide your fall by moving the remote like you would guide
a parachute.

Hasn't it already been stated that this game will _only_ use the Classic
Controller? ie. no wiimote control (or nunchuk) at all.
Personally, I think it's a silly step backwards, but I'll wait until it's
released. Fighting games aren't really my thing anyway, but a good
wave-around nunchukking fighter coud well have convinced me to part with
some cash.

I don't think that's going to happen. The game is made for multiplayer and
is one of the most popular Nintendo franchises. They aren't going to make
people buy four more controllers in addition to the $60 controllers they
already have in order to play it. That would seriously cut into sales of
the game.
I think that the most likely scenario is that the game will only require the
remote, possibly held on the side as stated here. Certainly with a
combination of "waggle" and button mashing you could have some pretty
amazing controls.

I'm not big on fighting games, either, but the SSB games are always fun.

I don't think that's going to happen. The game is made for multiplayer and
is one of the most popular Nintendo franchises. They aren't going to make
people buy four more controllers in addition to the $60 controllers they
already have in order to play it. That would seriously cut into sales of
the game.
I think that the most likely scenario is that the game will only require the
remote, possibly held on the side as stated here. Certainly with a
combination of "waggle" and button mashing you could have some pretty
amazing controls.
